Supported carriers

In Belgium, RCS is supported by all three main mobile carriers: Proximus, Telenet/Base, and Orange.

Regions

RCS doesn't use the routing concepts you may know from SMS, such as MCC and MNC. Instead, carriers are identified by Region — a convention defined by Google, since RCS delivery runs through Google's RCS Business Messaging infrastructure. Naxai maps each recipient's number to the right region behind the scenes, so you don't need to manage this mapping yourself.

Each region also has a management type:

• Carrier-managed — the carrier operates RCS directly
• Google-managed — Google operates RCS on the carrier's behalf

This affects how an Agent gets launched on a given carrier, but doesn't change how you send messages.

When a number is out of reach

If a recipient's number can't be reached over RCS — their device doesn't support it, their carrier isn't one your Agent has launched on, or their carrier isn't supported at all — the message fails with one of the codes described in RCS Status & Error Codes (such as no-agent, rcs-unreachable, country-restriction, no-carriers, or rcs-missing-features).

Set up RCS to SMS Fallback so these recipients still receive your message via SMS.
